About Us
We are a not-for-profit organisation offering information, services and support to meet the needs of the Katikati community in the areas of health, education and well-being. We are committed to providing accessible, accountable, high quality services and programmes to the community. Our centre has been operating for over 25 years.
The Katikati Community Centre has a strong focus on families with many services provided at the centre, including Pregnancy and Parenting Classes, School Holiday Programmes, Breakaway Holiday Programme, After-school Programmes, Youth Services and Community Education.
Our Services include:
• Wise and Wonderful A programme designed to provide companionship laughter and fun for seniors in our community.
• Antenatal courses for women who are expecting.
• KatiKids After School Care - Providing a safe and fun environment for children aged 5 to 12. Our programme is based at the Katikati Primary School grounds.
• Katikids Holiday programme - Our Katikids Holiday Programmes are loads of fun and jam packed with a variety of activities for children. Care available 8am - 5pm.
• Pathways for Rangitahi - Designed to support young people between 14 and 24 to support them into employment and training opportunities.
• Youth counselling for 10 to 17 year olds who are at risk of offending.
• Free teens sports & activity based holiday programme for 12 to 17 years running four weeks per year .
• Community Connector Links individuals and Whanau with the relevant social support services while providing wrap around support until their needs have been addressed.
• Yoga - Centre run programme 3 days per week.
• Venue Hire - Our rooms are rented out to community, commercial and private groups.
• Volunteer Brokerage - A volunteer delivers personalised brokerage of volunteers to volunteer organisations one day per week.
• Community Van – take the bookings for medical appointments (pickup and drop off from your home)
• Adult and Community Education including:
Te Reo; NZ Sign language; English for Speakers of other Languages (ESOL); Computer courses; Managing Stress and Anxiety; Meditation and Mindfulness; SPACE for you and your baby.
